Welcome to the website of
Underwood Hills Focus School
Be sure to come out for our "Meet the Teacher's Night," Thursday, July 29th from 5:00-7:00PM. We hope to see you there. Remember, School starts August 2nd.

Behind the school a new feature is beginning to emerge. Recently Mr. Mott, has planted a new Focus School Garden, complete with spinach, turnips, carrots, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, corn and much more. Be sure to check back regularly this summer as we monitor the growth of this new addition to our school. As school begins again in August, these plants will provide opportunties for new enrichment programming.
On Tuesday, June 22nd, students participated in the second annual All School Field Trip. Students visited the Joslyn Art Museum in the morning and walked across the Bob Kerry Pedestrian bridge in the afternoon.
The Focus School at Underwood Hills is centrally located at 9030 Western Avenue and will focus on Leadership through Technology and Communication. The purpose of the school is to immerse students in a diverse environment while exposing them to cutting-edge technology and curriculum offerings in a small school setting. To this end, students study regular academic subjects while receiving specialized instruction in the focus areas of leadership, technology, and communication.
The students who attend Underwood Hills Focus School benefit from an expanded school calendar and also have the opportunity for an extended school day. The official school day begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. All students are invited to stay until 5:00 p.m. to participate in structured activities that support the core curriculum, reinforce basic skills, provide enrichment opportunities and enhance knowledge in the focus areas (leadership, technology and communication). This additional time for instruction focuses on meeting student needs to ensure mastery of content standards.
